I am replacing a radiator in my room and want to draindown to solder on new piping, the problem is my combi boiler is in the basement of the house about one metre up on the wall, there is only one radiator in the basement at ground level and there doesnt seem to be a draincock on the piping at all.

My Combi Boiler is a Baxi 100 Bahama, there is no storage tank in the house the water comes in straight from the mainsto the boiler via a loop feed. The boiler seems to have some sort of draincock, is this what I use to drain off the system?

Thankyou in advance to anyone who can solve my problem

I am not a plumber and I do not know the layout of your boiler but I would think you could either drain the system via a drain on the CH circuit of the boiler or by disconnecting one of the rad valves on the lowest radiator - although this would be a bit messy as you cannot attach a pipe. Depending on the position of the work to be done you may not need to drain down too much. You could always isolate the area to work on with a freezer kit instead - probably best to depressurise the system first though.

i rang a local plumber that advertised he dealt with my boiler (vokera) and he told me over the phone exactly what to do, get yellow pages out!
its worth a try (with the same problem)
