We have a combi bolier feeding a number of radiators but the pressure seems to drop every few days and need to be topped up!

I presume that this isn't the norm? One of the radiators is fitted with no thermostatic valves, as a safety increase the bolier malfuctions? and this also seems to need to be bled every week or so

Any ideas?

is there an easy way to find it? rather than having to lift carpets and floors?

Hopefully it may be on the surface i.e. bleed valves, drain off or comp joints.
Check them all out first. :D

no, its the pressure relief valve pipe, an open pipe that should go out the wall near and underneath the boiler.

an extenal drain off pipe should be capped anyhoo, so check that isn't leaking either.

I'd check the rad tails first anyhoo.

All the rad tails are dry.

it looks as though the pvr pipe through the external wall has been leaking/running.

Any ideas what would cause this?

failure of the expansion vessel

do a search of this forum for "expansion vessel test"
