Hi All, After battering my blade on some bamboo (damn that stuff is hard!) I need to change my DW712 blade for the first time . . . I see the spanner housed at the back of the unit and have removed the shield etc. My question is - how do I lock the blade to remove???

thanks!

Huey

just below the the trigger and lever is a black button on the front that locks the blade

you dont have to remove the gaurd to change the blade just loosen both screws slide up along the slot and tighten a little to stop it falling back down

dont forget it has a reverse thread and loosens clockwise ;)

thanks! gawd, I feel a bit stoopid!

thanks again big-all, now that I've finally splashed out on three different grade blades it's good to know how to change 'em!

Huey

plus: explains the lock-tight on the bolts holding guard on!
