Cheapest Carpet

What is the cheapest way for me to carpet my garage conversion. (It needs to be carpet rather than laminate as my disabled son would slide around like Bambi on ice). The size is 2.6m by 5.6m and I want underlay and a carpet that will last -how much I am likely to have to pay? (I live in Cheshire by the way, for anyone offering free carpet and fitting).
