Hi
I have a 1930s detatched house that has a chimney breast running at an angle in the loft along the line of an eave from a peripheral corner to the apex. It stops below roof line and there is no chimney above the roof. I want to remove the chimney breast in the loft which seems mainly supported on header bricks built out from the wall. I am trying to find out if the wall behind the chimney will be a full two bricks thick and so not be weakened if the breast is removed. Has anyone removed a similar structure ?
