I'm going to be fitting a new bathroom suite.

When I'm choosing a toilet should I take into account the waste pipe that's already in ? Or if needed can that be changed pretty easily to fit any toilet ?

Any tips great fully recieved

Most wc's are "P" traps now and there are a wide variety of multiquick's to join the to existing soil pipe so make your choice and then find out which multiquick you need.

Depends on height and material of existing soil pipe. Plastic easy enough to alter, cast iron or lead can present a challenge for a DIYer.

Nice one thanks very much for the advice.

Just a case of cutting the old then attaching the new fittings etc then ?

Not sure how its connected its boxed in at the moment but from what I can see its a plastic pipe and looks as if its a push fit ? Can't see anything that tightens the joint but as I say can't see it very well

If existing uses a pan connector then simply replace pan connector. (Old one will probably leak if reused.) These have fins that provide a seal in the soil pipe and a rubber gasket that will seal on the pan spigot. Wont need to cut anything unless the existing pipe is too far forward to accept new pan position.

Errr, aren't most pans HO (Horizontal Outlet) nowadays?
P trap pans have/had a 14 degree fall built into them, hence the Multikwik MKB1/14 to convert a HO pan to replace a P trap pan going into soil pipe with a 14 degree fall. MKB21/104 converts P pans into an S trap pan with a vertical outlet (through the floor). MKB21/90 converts a HO pan to a vertical outlet.
