Is there a specific 'name' for the type of loo/cistern that are joined by a curved flush pipe, as opposed to the traditional close-coupled variety? And, anyone know of an outlet that sells them? The problem being that the outlet exits from the side of the pan (which cant be altered without a lot of bother), which means the usual close-coupled pan is too near the back wall to get this side-outlet connector on. Hence, i need to replace the unit with the same, which has more rear clearance to play with.

low level or high level cistern.

i would say that a cistern with flushpipe is the more 'traditional' compared to a c.c. pan and cistern. ;)

Hi. The 3 types are high level, low level and close coupled. Low level is that which you described and should be a stock item at any plumbing merchants. Good luck
