Hi

I have a Lineamax combi boiler & a 3 storey house with a bathroom (with shower) on both first & 2nd floor.

The hot water at all the taps/showers has started to get cold then hot the cold again etc.

British Gas look after the boiler & came out today & said they isolated the supply to the combi & turned on the hot taps & get cold water & this means there must be cold/mains water getting into the hot system probably through a shower mixer in one of the bathrooms. I have a Mira Realm shower on the first floor & he said he had seen this before with this make.

If he is correct, does it make sense for me to whip the mixer off, cap both pipes & try the hot water (I don't think an isolator is fitted to it !), & if that solves it get a new mixer ?

Any suggestions/experiences would be gratefully appreciated.
