Hi
The combination boiler that I have a problem with is a: Chaffotaeux et Maury Sterling FF. The pressure on the boiler keeps going high. And there appears to be a water leak at the top of the change over valve where the micro switch is fitted, can this be repaired? Also does the rise in pressure mean there is a ( water to water ) internal leak in the secondary heat exchanger?

Thanks

A service kit is available for the diverter (horrible job). The heat exch in theory can leak internally. It can also be the expansion vessel fitted to the front has failed or the flex hose blocked or simply it needs recharging via the schraeder valve.
Be prepared to shell out some decent money if the parts are beyond repair.
I'm good at spending other peoples money, and I would seriously consider replacing that old boiler.

i there i wonder if anyone can help me, i have an ideal he30 isar combi boiler about five years old , recently i have had alot of trouble with the hot water , the central heating works fine and acts on demand of the dreyfuss thermistat when requested however when the hot water tap is put on the boiler which normally displays 0 no hot water required should fire up on d with the burner light on , unfortunately this does not always happen and it stays on 0 and no hot water is served ,occasionally it does go to d and serves hot water for a very short time then flicks back to 0 and the burner goes off, now i have had several gas engineers take a look at it and they seem to get it working , but alas an hour later it reverts back to how it was with no hot water ,please could anyone advise me what could possibly be the problem so i could throw a few ideas next time the engineer comes as this is a nightmare having no hot water half the time and as we live in a flat there is no immersion either .
any responces will be appreciated

Hijacking posts is confusing. If you have a question about your boiler then make a new post. You are asking about a completely different boiler.

Dan, your boiler and your problem is completely different from this thread.

To the OP, your boiler is quite old and there are only a very few engineers who will be prepared to repair it for you. Be aware that most will take one look and say you need a new boiler.

I think that its a later version of the C&M Celtic. I vaguely remember there is something odd about the diverter valve which can result in unexpectedly getting wet!

Make sure you dont pay for one of those who have no intention ( or ability in most cases ) to do a repair.

I am sure that its quite repairable by those of us who specialise in repairs but it will take a while and there is far more money to be earned in replacing boilers than repairing them.

There are not many of those left now though!
