We're due to have a combi boiler fitted at the end of the month to replace the Rayburn solid fuel cooker we've had since we bought the house 20yrs ago. The cooker runs all the rads in the house & there's the usual setup of an expansion tank in the loft next to the cold water tank. My question is.....when the combi is fitted will the expansion tank in the loft still be used? It would be very helpful to me if it's not as i'm in the process of fitting a new bathroom suite & where I've just remove the old bath from I've just discovered that the hot water supply FROM the hot tank plus the cold water supply TO both the expansion tank + cold water tank are coming up through my bathroom floor about a foot away from the wall where it then enters the wall at skirting board level & comes out under the floorboards in my bedroom where it then makes its way across the bedroom, out onto the landing & up the wall in the airing cupboard were it connects to the 2 tanks I've mentioned. Any way sorry its a bit long winded but i'd like to get rid of the pipes coming up through the floor as it's my intension to put our shower there now.
Thanks in advance
