I am considering replacing my combi bolier and the engineer has advised that from 1 april it bust be a condensor boiler. Has anyone else heard or know of this.

Also my bolier is up in the airing cupboard with a long fllue through the roof. He says that a new condensor boiler will not be able to do that. This would mean completely resiting the boiler.

Any opinions or advice appreciated

if your plumber was a red indian he would be known as chief talking *******s,yes condensors only after 1.4.05 unless you can meet certain guidelines only prob will be getting condense line outside

Thanks - I take it that I can still vent through the roof? The airing cupboard is next to the bathroom with shower. Could the condensor be vented into the overflow for the bath/shower?

Thanks

in a word yes it can be teed into the wastes using suitable fittings and pipe

Thanks - you're a star

We have a SIME Murelle combi (don't laugh) at present. Would we be able to use the same flue for a replacement boiler, or would we need a new flue kit? (Expensive extra if it can be avoided).
