Condensation or penetrating damp?

Hi kevin_robson, are you still having the condensation problems, we are having same problems with condensation on windows and mould patches developing in corners, we are also looking at the "THE LOFTY" or the "KAIR kwh150" just wondering what you have done, or looking at doing, also a builder suggested about putting more vent tiles in roof.

all you will do by fitting d/g units is move the excess moisture to the next coldest surface which will now be the external walls.

This offers quite a simplistic view of condensation but it isn't necessarily true. In fact the installation of double glazing often improves condensation problems due to the fact that the property is much warmer after the fact. Warm air holds more moisture than cold air, internal wall temperatures are raised above what was the norm for single glazing. Both changes would have a positive impact on any previous condensation problems, even without taking into account other factors.
