I wonder whether the rise of solar generation lead to an inversion in the pricing structure. That is will the cheapest time periods be in the daytime

Increasing domestic solar generation will obviously tend to shift the balance in that direction. However, I suspect that an even bigger shift (which, potentially, could ultimately reverse the current pattern of day/night demand) is a progressive increase in nocturnal EV charging. On the other side of the equation is the fact that heat pumps will presumably result in an increase in daytime demand - so who knows where the 'balance' will end up?!
