I remember reading somewhere that to classify as a conservatory under permitted development rights, it should be 70% glazed? I cannot seem to fing this information on the planning portal site though. Can someone clarify the percentage? Or link to reference?
Also, a typical conservatory would have three sides. The one I am looking at having made would consist of two sides. The current house is almost like an L shape, extruding around three metres into the rear garden. The conservatory would be built along side that, using the wall as part of the conservatory itself leaving only two sides of the conservatory sides to be built.
Question regarding the percentage of glazing; would the original house wall that now makes use within the conservatory be taken into the percentage of glazing being used, or would that be ignored? Is it based soley on the other two sides (and roof obviously).
I hope that makes sense..!
