Evening I have a Client that is contstantly getting air locks in her DHWS I have been around a few times and blown cold mains pressure up her hot pipe which has knocked the air lock out which works for a while but then the problem appears again a week or so later, its a 3 story house with kitchen on ground floor, bathroom on 1st floor plus another shower room on the top floor. the air locks only occur in the kitchen sink and 2nd floor. she has a conventonal boiler with a HWSV, I've got a lot of ideas of what I should do to clear this but have any of you lot come across this and point me in the direction of the correct solution rather than going through the motions?

not guarenteed to be the right answer but the shower is possibly pulling air into the cylinder through the open vent. i believe a surrey flange would allow an air free supply of hot water to be drawn off the cylinder!
page 98 BES catalouge about 20 quid.

Now u ask Stupid answer! Obviosly taking in air from some where, could it be an issue with the tank

Check the vent pipe hasnt got pushed below the water level in the tank trapping any air.
Usually got suitcases and porno mags covering the pipes.

I had a call from a local whose shower pump under warrantee is giving a problem.

Apparently the nupty installer fitted the **** flange wrongly connected so the pump is sucking \ir down from the vent !!!

Asked me to quote for correcting.

I replied £65 but have not heard from her. Evidently she is looking for someone cheaper. Well it was Edgeware I suppose!
