Hi
I am installing a cooker hood into my kitchen but as I am not a qualified electrician, I have decided to use a 3 pin plug for the power supply, as opposed to connecting it directly to the mains via a fused spur.
However I have a couple of questions i'm unsure off.
Firstly the cable is two core and is too short to reach the power socket by about 50mm. I was thinking of purchasing a new 2 core cable of the correct length. Would it simply be a case of attaching a 3 pin plug to the new cable, and connect the other end to the relevant connectors on the cooker hood?
Also, the instructions state in bold, several times, "Do NOT connect to earth" and "this item must NOT be earthed". Why is this? Ive never seen this before on electric products.
Many thanks in advance
