Hi all,

I have a hotpoint built in cooker which is working fine (gas with the normal electrics) but for some reason the power has gone from the hoods fan and lights.

I can't seem to find where the power comes from, any ideas please.

Thanks Geoff

OK I've sorted it, it was a simple socket actually inside the cooker hood and the fuse had blown.

For your info, the "appliance" you refer to as a "built in cooker" is in fact three appliances.

A hood
A oven
A hob

They all have their own supply - there should be one or two accessible switches above the worktop somewhere to turn the whole lot off.

A friend of mine had the same problem. It turned out the fitters had boxed the spur in when they created the false chimney.

I don't know if your hood has a false chimney but if it does have look behind it.
