I have a 6mm electrical cable for a built in oven. At the moment I have a gas hob which I want to replace with an electric hob. Ideally I would like to use the existing cable for both the hob and oven without incurring additional electrical work. Is this possible? If not please explain why and suggest alternatives.

In my opinion it is crazy to swap from a gas hob to an electric one but hey-ho.
There dual outlet plates available enabling you feed both appliances (assuming the diversity of both won't cause nuisance overload tripping)
