Someone calling them selves an electrician might, but I stand by my statement.
Someone calling themselves an electrician whilst wearing boots with spurs and a Stetson that is...

Last time I was in a caravan (admittedly probably 40+ years ago!), the lighting was by gas. However, I concede that a gas-powered TV might be a bit more challenging, even todaySo gas can power everything except the lighting and a TV.
I don't doubt that you could - but would you do it 'through a wood'?So what's wrong with an overhead option, based on our underground cable a support every 25 to 30m would be fine, ground clearance of about 5.7 m. ... Kept under tension at both ends with suitable preformed wraps on the insulators, stays to stop it falling over and fixed to insulators on each intermediate pole. ... Heck we'd build something like that in a couple of days!!
I think the implication is that if you find yourself a battery-powered TV, and have gas 'everything else', you could manage without a cable of any sizeTrue ... Didn't think of that ... So would 6mm do ?? Or thinner
but would you do it 'through a wood'

Another example of a dodgy claim:It would seem we can get electric from gas using a catalytic heater without any flame even more here.
1) That's "gas powered" as in "gasoline" - diesel should be cheaper if you can get the red stuff. (Or Jet-A1 )However found This ETQ IN1000I 1.6HP 1000 Watt 63cc 2-Stoke Gas Powered Inverter Generator 1000W priced at £124.20 (approximately) so why would anyone want to go to all that trouble to generate power.
Correct me if i'm wrong here but one significant difference I see between DNO and customer systems is volt drop.Absolutely, we have specialist conductors just for that sort of location. Though for the sort of load being discussed a 16mm2 concentric would suffice, that would have a maximum span length of 33m as we do use it as an overhead cable.
Though with the mini-diggers now available a trench is equally valid
