Hello, had the local gas engineer out to pull out and cap my gas fire. I forgot to ask him what to do when decorating the newly exposed wall. He helpfully chisseled into the wall a bit so the cap doesn't stick out. So I could just fill it.
Just wondered if this is normal practice, or if I should be leaving some kind of removable plate in the wall in case someone down the line wants to put a fire back in, or to warn them not to stick a nail in there?
