Hi All
First time posting on this amazing website!
We have a penetrating damp patch in an understairs cellar area (approx 0.75m*1m) due to a corresponding higher ground level on the other side of the wall. This will be sorted by moving away the ground on the outside to leave an airgap and once that has settled into place, replastering the cellar or damproofing/tanking the cellar as required.
It’s going to take a good few months before we are able to do any of the inside work and be able to use that space. So looking to do a temporary fix on the inside by scraping off the loose paint, maybe using some salt neutraliser and painting over the problem for now! The plaster in the region is showing signs of bowing a bit so would rather not remove it till we come to do the damproofing on the inside.
Don’t need it to last much more than half a year and don’t mind if I need to top up with another coat once in between.
Any recommendations on products/paints to use?
Thanks!
