I bought some switched FCU's expecting to find a knockout for cord outlet. I was wrong. The fitting has a shiny chrome frontplate but there is nowhere for the flex to emerge. The fitting has a backplate which *does* have a socket outlet.
Is it acceptable practice to drill a 10mm hole into the front of fcu frontplate, stick in a rubber grommet, and pass the flex into the fitting through this ?
