cracked tiles on ply.

hi, Can someone tell me why tiles would have cracked along the join lines of the overlaid ply.The ply was screwed down as it should have been.cheers. Tom

Just read the word "overlaid ply". To be honest, don't know why it's flexed enough to crack the tiles - hope someone else works it out, 'cos I'm interested too!

Joist spacing, size & span of joists, type of existing floor? Type/make of adhesive & grout used? If the floor flexes, it will crack up. Over boarding can also give problems if you don’t fix it down correctly; support along the joints, screwing into the joists not just into the top of the floorboards; personally I always prefer to replace rather than overboard as it can often lead to disappointment.

Are you really in Bahrain? Local factors could have some significance!
