Just bought an old cottage, about 1890, solid walls and unable to see a DPC. I have two cellars and during a rain storm I watched as water dripped into one cellar from ground level, the other cellar is dry lined. I have to repair guttering and I intend repointing, on some of the the ground has been concreted, where the leaking was apparent is where earth meets the wall. Can I do anything to stop this and is there any point in putting in an injected DPC. Finally just about every wall inside sounds as though it is lined though this has been in place for a long time as architrave ,skirting etc have not been disturbed.
