Hi there,

About to start planing my small decking project, now i have built my sleeper retaining wall. I think the largest joist i can get away with are 3*2. I have been in contact with my local jewson's and they have offered me some kiln dried treated timber. I was wondering is the fact its been kiln dried going to effect its life? Im thinking it might suck up more moisture than normal treated timber.

Many thanks in advance.

Kiln dried usually means more money, seriously it is better but the ruling factor is, has it been pressure treated? This makes it last longer.

Although, being 3x2, you'll need more for the same area than you would with 6x2, so wont be any cheaper overall!
