Having problem with my smoke detectors connected to my Accenta G4 panel.
The zone has been set as fire and all flags set as helpfully advised in an earlier post on here but when I push test button on detectors the 2 led lights up but no bells etc so I must have a wiring error.

The terminals on the detector are:
A & B: Alarm relay normally closed. I have connected these to Zone 8 in the panel.
C: No connection (use for loopthrough if required)
D & E: 0v & 12v. I have connected these to the 0v & 13v at the top of the panel.
I did notice that next to these top 13v & 0v terminals is a terminal marked *fire*.
Dunno if I should have wired something in there???

Really thankfull to have found this site for sure.

How have you wired the two smoke detectors?

In series to zone 8?

Can you keep it all on the same thread, makes it easier to cross reference.

Oh yes sorry makes sense.

Wiring is as follows:

Wire from panels power to upstairs detector power.
Wire from panels power to downstairs detector power.
Wire from panels zone 8 to downstairs detector A & B, from here wire goes to upstairs detector A & B.

Thats your problem.
You have wired the zones like the power.

So for example from panel Yellow and black to first detector.
Yellow to A then the other side of Yellow to B
Do not split the black ( or as you have now, connect together in connector strip) the Yellow to A in the 2nd and Black to B in the 2nd.

Sorry Alarm....haha obviously straight forward to you but you've gone and lost me totaly there!!!
If you could maybe simplyfy it I may have a chance :)
I've put down the wiring colour I've used if that would help.

Wires (red & green) from panels power to upstairs detector power.
Wires (red & green) from panels power to downstairs detector power.
Wires from panels zone 8 (black & blue) to downstairs detector A & B, from here wire goes to upstairs detector A & B.

Thanks again for you time and effort

Ok just to clarify what I have done.
From zone 8 black wire to first detector A.
Then from first detector B black wire to second detector A.
From second detector B blue wire straught back to zone 8.

when I push the test button on the detectors only the second detector sounds.
Gotta be a simple remedy now.....nearly there :)

Did the alarm panel sound?

Are the smoke detectors supposed to sound?

Did you wire the power in still.

Got a name or picture of the smoke detectors or a link to the wiring diagrams?

The detectors are Exodus OH/4W.
Just tried the detectors again and realised that the detectors do not sound....the sound comes from the sounder under the stairs.......that's why I thought only one detector was working as I was testing the upstairs one :)
Anyway I have disconected the sounder and tested the detectors again and the only sound I now get is a very low alarm sound from the rkps.
I have not connected the external bell box yet.
I just thought the sound would be louder through the rkps as the sounder was an add on

As I thought, they do not sound.

You could add another 16ohm extension speaker upstairs and also the externals will add volume anyway.
The external will also pulse rather than ring continuously.

Yes good idea.

Thankyou soooo much for taking the time and effort to help me out.

So where is the button for a million thank yous.......or do I just have to sit here and keep pressing it :)
