Thanks for the reply,, now I am really confused.

Why do I need to fit anything to the cylinder??

All I am trying to do is fit a tee into the existing pipework so that I can go into new mixer valve??

Maybe its me being stupid, or maybe I didn't explain what I was asking very well.

Hello again,

I am still pondering on fitting the surrey flange.
I bought a usec one from Ebay in good condition, it has 22mm outlets but the thread end that fits to the cylinder is bigger, about 26mm.

I have had a look at the female thread in a copper cylinder which I have in my shed from the old installation but the surrey flange thread is too big to screw into it, do I need to buy something extra for the flange to fit.
thanks. If I could remember how to add a picture I would but I cant remember how.
