Hi,

I have two banks of low voltage spots. Each bank of the kitchen/diner has - 10 spots each with a 50w bulb on its own switch. Total of 500 watts each bank

I would like to now if there is a twin dimmer switch available that can cope with this or do I have to reduce the bulds to 30w?

thanks in advance

You can indeed buy such an item. However they are normally special order jobs. Just pop into your local wholesaler and get them to order one in for you. BTW... They are v. expensive!

You need an SELV dimmer.

It either needs to be rated to switch Tungsten Halogen loads OR you need to derate by 50%.

IE, to switch a 500VA load, you need a 1kW dimmer.

Trouble is, the manufacturer does not recommend two of these 1kW modules in one enclosure...
