Dimmers advice please

Hello

Looking for advice on dimmers please. I have a large room which has 3 separate areas, kitchen, dining and sofa area. Each area has 4 x 50w mains wired halogen lights (12 in total). Each set of 4 has it's own switch located on one plate. I would like to change the switches to dimmer switches, so I can dim each area independently and ideally keep all on the one plate (chrome plate if possible!). Your advice and any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Is the switch currently on a sinlge gang sized plate, or on a double sized gang plate?

Either way, you will need a double sized back box to accomodate a dimmer which has 3 gangs.

Lutron have a nice range. Contact them about a plate to mount three units. some Lutron dimmers are available from Screwfix.

As long as it's rated at 400W or above
