Dishwasher leaking at cold water connection

After disconnecting and disposing of a very old dishwasher and replacing it with a new Bosch machine the connection from the Bosch water pipe to the straight cold water connection leaks as soon as the valve is turned. If you tighten the connection further it still leaks but the spray becomes finer and under higher pressure. Any hints?

You may have dirt on the rubber washer, take it apart remove washer, clean replace. Take not to damage the washer when removing it.
