CAN ANYONE RECOMEND A GOOD DMM FOR SOMEONE ABOUT TO LEARN THE TRADE FROM SCRATCH?

if you can affoard it i would reccomend the fluke DMM (with current measuring) .
If you connect wrongly it will not go pop

look to spend around £80-100 inc vat

there are other makes, but i prefer fluke / megger- easier to get spares
 
i just use a cheap £10-15 multimeter... does the job and cheap tp replace. altho i do have a good quality tester
