Do I need my old water tank

I fitted a new larger water heater powered on its own circuit for my hot water and showers.

I also fitted a new log burner in tandem with my oil fired central heating system. Both work through a centralizer. The problem is that central heating is still warming the old water tank up which presumably takes away heat from my central heating.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

You right. If the central heating is on it shouldnt be heating
the hot water tank unless the hot water tank thermostat is calling
for heat. I hope you have a hot water tank thermostat.
