When I bought my house the original large bathroom had been partitioned and turned into a small bedroom and tiny bathroom. I want to remove the partition and make the whole thing into a big bathroom again, i.e. losing the small bedroom. Among the sale documents was a bit of paper provided by whoever did the original partitioning, which claims to be a 'certificate of regularisation'. It looks pretty home made.
So do I need to inform the council that I want to turn the two rooms back onto one bathroom? It''s only a stud wall, after all. I'll be doing it all myself. What makes me think I may need to do this is the electrics, although this is really just a matter of me moving the existing bathroom light and switch, and using the bedroom wall socket feed for a shaver socket instead.
