I have tried to remove a radiator with a Honeywell Thermostatic valve.

I turned the water off on the outward flow end of the radiator and turned the valve to zero on the inward flow.

When i released the nut to drain the radiator the valve end was still open.

What have i done wrong?

How do i stop the water without having to drain my heating system, which is a Baxi back boiler. :!:

Its not always sufficient to turn the TRV head down to zero.

Most are supplied with a decorators cap to close them completely.

Dont forget there is water inside the rad to be drained out!

If the house is warm, your trv is probably dud.

Remove head from the valve, (that'll be dry), insert something like a 5p coin, and replace the head while set to max. Now when you turn the head down it wil push the pin further.
