In a domestic heating installation is there now a requirement to install a room thermostat of any kind or is this just best practise at the moment. I have had various answers from it became a requirement in the 2005 Building Regulations to there is no requirement but it is advisable and is best practise to install the room thermostat with thermostatic radiator valves on each radiator except in the room with the roomstat.

it is a building reg to install an interlock to turn off boiler when heating is not reqd.

a roomstat and trvs is the minimum requirement.

It's highly advisable since if all TRVs close down then the boiler will continue to pump.

Got a feeling it's statutory now.
