I have knocked through an internal brick wall and installed a lintel an door lining and filled in the gaps around the edge with mortar. I have made a mistake though and fitted a 105mm deep lining (which is flush to the bricks) and not accounted for the depth of the plaster. My question is do I need to rip it out and fit the correct size jambs or can I get away with attaching some beading to make up the difference. I'm worried though that when I fit the hinges, they will be mainly into the beading and it may not be strong enough.
