Dot and dab plasterboard

Hello. I am about to make an order for dot and dabbing my extension .
The plasterboard will be going on to thermalite blocks. I've watched a few videos- a few have put pva over the blocks first? Would you advise this? If so what ratio to water?
Secondly would you use square edge plasterboard or tapered edge?

Do you plan on plastering it afterwards or tape and fill the joints (dry lining)?

Would you advise to pva the wall first? I also read you should leave a gap of 2 mm between boards?

The few times I've done it I've not bothered with PVA because I was fitting to new/clean thermalites, and I've not wetted down either but that's definitely recommended by some! : https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/prep-work-before-dot-and-dab.137810/

Just dampen the wall.

I'm not a fan of the PVA with everything diet.
