I'm going to be draining down the heating system soon and wondered whether its worth adding a flushing agent beforehand? I've read some posts that say yes but most dont seem to mention it.

The system works very well at the moment but we are replacing and relocating a radiator. The radiator we removed did contain some black sludge and hence why I am considering adding in something to flush the system.

So is it something worth doing or should I just drain the system without?

Thanks in advance again :)

thanks for the reply.

I've already added inhibitor to my shopping list and thats what started me thinking about flushing additive.

From reading other posts it seems that the Sentinel x100 and x400 are as good as any and thats what I was going to buy. Is it really a case of personal choice or are there any that are realy superior to the others?
