I have just moved into a new house and found a rather unusal plumbing feature - the washing machine waste drains into the garden.

The nearest proper drain is the downstairs toilet which is right next to it - it only has a toilet however.

What is the easiest way of connecting to this drain ? Do I have to dig the floor up or is there some way I can connect to the back of the toilet?

( And yes I am taking the matter up with the surveyor as to why he didn't mention this in his report!)

..... the washing machine waste drains into the garden.

If you are on a water meter, put this waste into a tank and then pump it into the wc cistern. That way you save water and get rid of the waste :D
