Hi , i am a heating installer involved on a new build of apartments the client wants the flue to go through a ridge vent outlet, the spec ridge is a forticrete dry system, my question is we are looking at using a valliant boiler with a ridge terminal flue, there is a ridge that is used for this but its only available in wet fix, so what architect is looking at is can we use dry ridge and drill a 130mm hole through top centre with a diamond core drill, anybody think this is possible?
Any help much appreciated
Cheers

You will weaken the ridge tile so that it becomes almost unusable. It will not stand any movement or strain whilst you are installing and is likely to fail, unless you can glue some reinforcing slips to the underside. This may be prohibitive though.

I would have a few tiles hand because failure is likely whilst drilling.

I would still give it a pop though, I quite like a challenge.
