Hi Gents, just found this website and very informative it is too. I too have just had this problem occur, coincidentally with a 10 year old Bosch machine (model SMS5032GB). We have messed around with different settings plus tried various detergents/rinse aids/salts etc but with no difference. I had already come to the conclusion that something is faulty when I found your posting. Handgs - any further info or results? Have you had an engineer look at it etc? (and thanks JohnD for your explanation of how a softener works).
