Hi,
can anyone give me some advice please. I have got a 8.5 kw shower fitted at the mo, but I am looking at replacing it. Can someone tell me the maximum kw I will be able to fit without changing the wiring. The cable fitted is 6mm2 and has a run of approx 10 meters from the cu to the pull switch. I am not exactly sure what size fuse it fitted, but it looks like it's a 40A.

rule of thumb says 8.5kw max for 6mm² however if the installation method is favourable then it may be good for higher, conversly if its not and/or if there are many derating factors to consider, it may be only suitable for smaller showers (though thats unlikely to be the case if the person who fitted the 8.5kw shower was competant)
