emergency lighting

I need to change a normal electrical fitting (one way switch) to an emergency fitting.Am i right in saying i just need to run a single brown cable from switch to fitting then link out the battery pack?And what are the connections either side cheers

You need to replace the fitting with a maintained version, these require a permanent live feed, a switched live feed (to turn it on/off), neutral and earth.
