I have just moved into a new house and am looking to put new flooring thorugh the hall, kitchen, dining room and downstairs WC.

We have been advised various different things but the most convincing so far has been from a trade wood shop - they advised we should only consider engineered. However another shop said solid would be fine.

The flooring would be going onto a suspended wood floor in the house.

Please could anyone clarify what would be best as it is obviously quite costly and we don't plan on doing ti more than once!!!

Thanks
