EXPANSION TANK OVERFLOW (REQUIRE TECH INFORMATION)

I recently carried out a survey on a heater system and found several faults. One of the defects involved the expansion tank.

Details : The expansion isnt covered and the overflow is piped looking into the storage tank. E.g If the expansion tank was to over fill it would overflow into the storage tank causing contamination.

Where can i get information about this for my report..?

Water regulations/byelaws, but it seems you have the information for your report, what else do you want?
 
There's BS for heating systems - I'm being lazy here - look in installations, which often say "installation should be iin accordance with BSxxxx" Then of course you need a copy...
