I've seen both in manufacturers literature, is there any real preferred orientation of the vessel ie bottom or top liquid entry (Oil boiler, fully pumped, S-plan)?

Thanks all

I have always assumed that if its top entry then the weight of water is added to the pressure on the diaphragm.

Conversely if bottom entry its only the pressure of the water to deal with.

However it gets more complicated because its a sealed system and does not know what the outside pressure is!
