Could someone tell me how much water should be in my expantion Tank.Mine has about 4ins in it, but there is a water mark about 2ins from the top,is this where it should be.I am asking because i had the mains water turned of the other day to change a ballvalve in the big water tank in the loft.I flushed the toilet a couple of times while the water was turned off.i now get a knocking noise from the boiler which was not there before i changed the ballvalve.Thanks for any help.Cumbrian

the mark will probably be the hot level

Thanks kevplumb and dal5band.the ball valve is okay.i will have to get a plumber out to check this knocking from the boiler.Thanks again.Cumbrian
