Can anyone please tell me how much/often do you get anything out of the return to tank pipe ?
The reason I ask is I've just had/found a big leak in my loft.
The area under the loft tanks was flooded and the ceiling under it was on the verge of coming down !! The area of the ceiling affected is in the airing cupboard and I haven't noticed until now. It was probably leaking for a long time due to there being mould growth, and only now broken through the plaster board.
Now to the Fill/Expantion tank. In my haste/panic at 2am this morning on discovering the leak and trying to deal with it, I was removing tank lagging etc to try and spot a leak. (after water isolated)
I cannot seem to find a leak !! BUT the return pipe was not going back into the tank, it was in mid air over a very wet area. I cant be 100% sure i didnt do it, but earlier this year I had the loft re-insulated and it may well have been knocked out then as it comes out fairley easily. Thats why i ask how much/often do you get a return flow ??
I rekon there was about 1/2 of a washing up bowl of water in the flooded area.
Many thanks for any help/advice given,
Steve.
