Hi,
I am making my garage into a double one/workshop. It will take the door opening to a span of approx 4500mm. This will take the weight of the pitched roof/conc tiles etc. The drawing says toe beam over, not sure what this is! Is it made, or formed on site or bought to fit?! Whatever lintel is used will be behind wood cladding.
I kind of assumed it would be a standardish I beam or box beam arrangement.
Help appreciated,

Cheers,

This may or may not be good advice.
I don't want to upset someone big enough to lift a 14 and half feet up and over door!
I'd ask the person who did the drawing.
Simple, I know, but then so am I. ;)

a toe beam is the thickening of the floor slab at the point of entry into the garage.

the concrete is thickened at the impact area so that heavy objects such as cars do not cause damage or deflection to the slab.
