Extractor fan routing

Guys,
Looking to use part of the garage for a downstairs toilet.
Regarding the extractor fan routing, is it acceptable to have it exit into the garage area? or best to have straight out through roof?
Remainder of garage has loads of 'fresh air' coming in thanks to the gaps in garage door
